The Miller Family Chronicle: Nanchang-Day 1

We have finally arrived in Nanchang! After a full day of travel and a long layover at the Shantou airport, we arrived in Nanchang around 6 pm. Our guide, Sissi, met us at the airport and arranged a van to transport us from the airport to our hotel in Nanchang. It was about a 45 minute drive. She gave us lots of good information on the area which was nice and she's super nice herself.
We found out from her that we are actually getting Phynley tomorrow at 4! Adoption is all about being flexible! So I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Can't believe we are less than 24 hours from meeting our little girl!!! They are actually bringing her directly to our hotel which is different than what happened with Ellie. We got her at a government office building. So hopefully it will be as smooth a transition as possible. Sissi did talk with her Social Welfare Institute. They said she eats mostly table food, walks independently and is potty trained (though by most standards, potty training at a SWI is more about putting kids on the potty every 2 hours than having them tell you when they need to go, so we may keep her in diapers for a little bit depending on how she does..). She is also shy...or so they say. Can't wait to see if that's actually the case because Ellie will wear the poor girl out! :)
Our friend Kim is taking the overnight train to hang out with us for a few days and she arrives tomorrow morning!!!! I can't wait to see her! She will be here with us through Wednesday afternoon when she heads back to Tianjin! Thank you to Patrick for managing the home front and to Moyer and Keturah for letting us "borrow" their mommy! :)
We will be making a trip to a grocery store tomorrow for some quick and easy food that we can fix for the girls in the room when we don't want to go out to eat. Hopefully between our guide and Kim, we won't starve..:) Will post more tomorrow after we get Phynley! :)
