This evening we took a taxi to one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world. It was an amazing sight to behold and an awesome view of the city. We managed to all make it up and down, despite Mackenzie's repeated warnings to all of us that it was a death trap. After our 30 minute trek on the Ferris wheel, we ate out at another great Chinese restaurant. Our guide has some amazing insight into the area and having lived here her entire life is very knowledgeable about where to tour and where to eat! She has taken up to several great Chinese restaurants. After dinner we headed to the musical fountains in Qio Shue Square. It was beautiful to watch and Mackenzie was even close enough to get wet! We had a great day of touring with our guide and now we are tired and ready for bed! Will post more pictures tomorrow!
Today was a pretty uneventful day here in Nanchang. We actually slept in a little bit, ate some breakfast, and relaxed and hung out with Kim in the morning. Phynley took a long morning nap and then was very happy all afternoon. It was so nice to have Kim here with us and we are so thankful that her awesome husband, Patrick, was able to manage the home front and kiddos so that she could come and hang out with us! She left this afternoon around 4 to head to the airport for her flight home and we already miss her! This evening with we out to dinner with some new friends that we have met here. Wish I would have taken my camera. Apparently I have gotten lax with Kim around and have been forgetting to carry my camera with me! We had a nice time and we able to pantomime our way through ordering pizza at Papa Johns. Between our hotel and Papa Johns, there were 3 KFC's. Guess if we are desperate for fried chicken, we have ample options!
Just put Phynley down for the night and are settling in to watch a movie on one of the only non-Chinese speaking stations we get.
On the agenda tomorrow...going to a park, out to a Chinese lunch and hopefully some local souvenir shopping with our guide. Less than 48 hours left in Nanchang!

Love this post and read Kim's posts, too. Phynley looks like SUCH a MILLER! Something about the skeptical way she looked in Kim's pictures. :)
Laughing, Shelly.
And again, couldn't agree more.
Wow, the pictures are awesome! I love the one of the fam standing in front of the red Chinese tower thingy... so cool! Phynley looks so comfortable in your arms- like it's just meant to be. LOVE IT!! Keep on havin' fun and stay away from that ferris wheel. I agree with Mackenzie that that thing looks like a death trap!
Sophia..you crack me up! Poor Mackenzie was close to going into a full blown panic attack on that Ferris wheel! Phynley does fit into our family very well :)
